Head Coach - Francisco Viacava

Francisco Viacava, Olympic level rower, is an accomplished and highly recognized head rowing coach who has trained athletes in the United States, Europe and South America. During his career, he has coached rowers with the US Olympic Team, US National Team, College and High School rowers with impressive results. He also has all the Coaching Certifications with US Rowing

(Level 1, 2, 3, and Advanced).   

 

Franky has coached rowers participating in World Cups for the USA, Luxembourg, Costa Rica, Sweden, Netherlands, Norway, Puerto Rico, Haiti, and the Peruvian National Team

2022- Training rowers competing in Worlds, South American Championships and preparing them for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

2021- Coached two rowers ( from Peru and Puerto Rico), who had trained at MIRH for previous three years, at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Both achieved the highest ranking ever in 1x rowing for their countries in the Olympics.

2017 - present Director and Head Coach of the Miami International RowHouse

2007 - 2014: Miami Beach Rowing Club, Director and Head Coach

2007 - 2010: Coach of the US Junior National Sculling Team

1994 - 1999: Peruvian Naval Academy and Club Regattas Lima, Head Coach

1990 - 1994 Jacksonville University Head Coach

1985 - 1990 MIT Assistant Coach

Assistant Coach - Maria Clara Rohner

Olympic athlete in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, rowing coach since 2017 with National Team rowers. Currently Assistant Coach at MIRH and massage therapist for athletes ( runners, rowers and triathletes)

Athlete Rowing Experience:

Argentine rowers ( LW2x, and W4x), 10 years on the national team.

National Champion 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

South American Champion: 1st place wins in 2006, 2009, 2010, 2012, 2013.

Pan American Champion: 2007, 2011 2015.

Olympic Games London 2012, 13th place

World Championship 2011, 2013, 2015.

World Rowing Cups 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2015.
